Primary Rug Tufting Cloth with Yellow Guidelines — High-Quality Base for Rug Tufting

Our Primary Rug Tufting Cloth with Yellow Guidelines is engineered specifically for modern rug tufting. Unlike traditional monks cloth (which is 100% cotton and not suitable for tufting), this fabric is designed to handle the force, speed, and movement of tufting machines while helping you achieve cleaner lines and more accurate designs.

✨ Key Features

  • Durable fibre blend: Made from 35% cotton and 65% polyester for strength, flexibility, and long-term reliability.
  • Ideal density: 26 × 26 stitches per inch and 260 gsm, providing the perfect balance between stability and ease of tufting.
  • Double warp & double weft: Reinforced construction adds strength and helps maintain consistency across your tufts.
  • Yellow guidelines: Prominent guideline stripes assist in planning layouts, spacing, and alignment.

🌟 Want Even Smoother Lines and Curves?

For more intricate or curved designs, consider upgrading to our Premium Grey Primary Tufting Cloth. Its softer weave and single warp/weft structure allow for smoother line work and highly detailed artwork.

📌 Important Note

This cloth is excellent for rug tufting but is not recommended for punch needling, especially for beginners.

Choose our Primary Rug Tufting Cloth with Yellow Guidelines for a dependable, high-quality base that elevates your tufting experience from the very first project.

I absolutely love using this material. Very durable with awesome flexibility. I've worked on a piece for weeks and has kept it's tension well. Just remember to pull tight before you start working on it. I've also made the mistake of not pulling tight enough one time and it was loose but I still managed to finish my rug without any issues with tearing.

Love this cloth

This is my favourite cloth to tuft with either with loop pile or cut pile, the edges don’t fray too badly once I’ve cut them out while waiting to glue the edges down

Tufting cloth

I've purchased 3 orders of the Tufting cloth with yellow guidelines. As a beginner I don't have any other cloth to compare it to but it works well for me and I'll continue to purchase from ALL Things Effy. Ordering is stress free, delivery arrives in Auckland in a reasonable time considering covid restrictions etc.
Carolyn is great to deal with - I highly recommend her to newby's like myself
