This relaxing, hands-on workshop is the perfect way to explore the art of punch needling in a cozy, welcoming environment — no experience needed!

🧵 What Is Punch Needling?
Punch needling is a form of textile art where you push yarn through a woven fabric using a hollow needle to create a field of tightly packed loops on one side. It’s fast, forgiving, and perfect for crafting fluffy, textured designs — think painting with yarn. The options with this craft are endless.

It’s also a unique form of making in that it doesn’t require counting, patterns, or strict planning — it’s completely freeform and mindful, much like painting. That’s what makes it so relaxing and accessible, especially for beginners.

This workshop will serve as a basic introduction, but with different size needles, fabrics, and frames, you can create anything from small mug rug coasters to elaborate wall hangings, rugs, clothing, and beyond. If you can imagine it, you can punch it.

• The basics of punch needling using a Lavor Chunky Adjustable Punch Needle – my favourite punch needle!

• How to stretch, trace, and punch your own design

• Tips for working with varying pile heights

• Finishing techniques for your piece
